@McFall1984 anymore on this?
Yea still working a bit behind the scenes. Have the engine running
Panels still at the bodyshop and by the time I finish work the place is closed
But he should have all my parts in paint an finish by now

this weekend I’m hoping to have the subframe in, radiator in, front arches in white stone chip an front suspension fully in and engine plumbed up for the last time 🤞🏻
Updates will go up this weekend

my MK2 cavaliers should be home tomorrow also. I’ve a corsa B bought also with a 2ltr 16v, that’s maybe going into the nova but that’s for another day/thread maybe

Old skool
Considering she doesn’t no I bought another v6 engine and the mk2 which I’m hoping to collect from the transport company today, were on speaking terms and all is good, but when she notices another car things will change fast 😂
To be fair us Vauxhall people have very tolerant wives or we’d be single longggg ago 😂

So this took a turn for the worst sadly

as I had took this off the lift to put my Irish cavalier on, an sort that for mot, had done a bit over this past week

but today my bodyman rang to say get the car to him ASAP as he is doing my parts

little did he know my car was bare bar the engine, so out this evening after work an moved some cars about, got the red cavalier into the recovery truck, reversed the trailer in an up it went on the lift

refitted the axle

Then 5tud Saab hubs and wheels

Then wrestled the subframe in. 2 bolts needed cleaned as the threads were shocking, out comes the new tap an die set I got from work an sorted the 2 bolts an got the subframe in

left the car like this

I wanted to finished underneath an stone chip then paint before the axle an subframe went in so that put a dampener on that

but at the same time I’ll get the car back in a few weeks white, then I can continue to refurb my axle an subframe I have here. I refitted old Saab hubs, old subframe and axle so I can refurb an clean up all for when it arrives back

Ok to cut a long story short

this was to be my wedding car for July past there

this was dropped off november to get painted
But it sat to June and it’s still blue

so I’ve continued to build and continue building the car and get it running and driving
I’ve another painter lined up who’s quite quick and a great painter

anyway today I figured out a few wires were out and lost
So today i sorted that, an ignition live was missing and a break in the fuel pump wire

that’s all sorted and now starts and turns off with the key

tomorrow I’ll be starting this bundle of fun

Went out an pulled the tank out
Noticed a small puddle after I topped the fuel up
Gives me a chance to clean under there an stone chip
1st pic you can see the tiny hole, got bigger as I rubbed it with a rag

So the dash is almost completed
Waiting on the carpets and underlay to dry
When it say at the painters ( outside for 2 months ) with no glass and cover blown off rain/snow soaked the car and only I was fitting the heater hoses under the dash I noticed my elbows were wet. At this point the car has been inside my shed for a few weeks
Never thought of the foam underlay holding the water, so they were cut out an left to dry
Will get more/better progress over the next few weeks, running new aluminium fuel pipe up the car to the tank
Have a new tank here, going to paint it, stone chip under were the tank sits then I’ll follow up the rest of the car with white stonechip

Is it going to stay blue and white then instead of being painted?

No, want to fit all panels an check fitment, most of the white panels are good, just need a good clean an polish, the driver rear arch nearest the lower part of the door is starting to go, so the father in law is going to fix that using the new arch I got. Then roof, quarters, door shuts will all get coated in 10l glacier white

Then when all fitted and panel gaps sorted its off to elite custom tints an wraps, local guy I use for tinting all my cars is going to fit all my BTCC decals
