Not to pee on anyone's chips, but how can it make sense to import such small quantities of this into Northern Ireland? I would doubt it's real 99. Surely a mix up somewhere.

It’s not imported as 99 though, it’s 97 with additive

Thanks Mark for clearing that up, it would not be viable to import it, I did look at sourcing E85 as I can run a flexfuel kit but this was very expensive and just not economical (£4 litre and mpg decrease by 30%!) Super99 though is much easier using readily available 97 and an additive.

This was born purely out of my want to use the top map in my car and go faster, I would not risk my business reputation or my car by selling a sub standard product. Ricks Garage with Litchfield have tuned the car and know me.

Did you read the thread? It says it’s 97 with an additive to up it.

There is plenty of 97 brought in

Thanks for confirming what the fuel is. So it's 97 with the exocet OCTIMAX additive added by yourselves at the correct ratio to attain 99 Ron? Have you had this fuel tested in a standard knock test engine to confirm rating and levels of deposits etc. Again, I'm not being an arse, it's just the fact that often fuel already has additives added, especially "super", and so you can get diminishing returns when you continue to add more, especially this concentrate type additive, only requiring less than 1% volume to increase rating from 97 to 99.

Adding toluene or xylene is a tried a tested (done at the refinery) way of adding octane rating without concentrated additives that often leave deposits, and can foul plugs and cause hot spots etc.

Not being negative, just genuinely interested. I'm in rathfriland, so I could well become a customer.

And for clarity, I think what your doing is a good thing. I'm just curious as to the process that has been followed here.

We have used Fast Exocet because as they state "We are fuel technology specialists who formulate, blend and market fuel additives"

They are lab based and have done the extensive testing themselves which allows commercial customers as ourselves to buy with confidence, this isn't some generic brand with no data to back it up.

No point dynoing it on fuel you aren't gona use lol

Or if it’s not mapped for.

No idea how quick a closed loop ecu on modern cars adjust though. But I’d imagine best just being consistent with fuel ron/quality is better than jumping between

That's what I meant. I assumed it'd be mapped in the rollers. But you're correct

Going for a spin today and thought I’d make a slight detour

I had a tank in the rs, which is mapped for 95 with NF octane booster and it seemed to react 100% didn't do any logs though but I really do need to get some live data 🤣
