I have to say that its absolutely fantastic to see an insurance company that is interested in providing competitive quotes for modified cars over here. Its hard enough to get a sensible quote never mind covering your modifications. If only I hadnt my heart set on an import I'd likely be making the move to yourselves aswell by the sounds of the other quotes here. Maybe at my next renewal you will have expanded to cover imports :grinning:

Best of luck (y)

Hi Simon,

Not all clubs/forums qualify for concessions with us, so you need to make sure that you mention RMS as the introducer.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Slideordie,

It is our intention to expand the scheme to cater for other vehicles (inc imports), but in the early days we need to play it safe.

The key to sustainable long term rating will be member support & scheme profitability - thus the early exclusions, which are based upon our experience in the mainland.

I recognise that this will "P" some of you (ie. the excluded risk profiles) off  , but at this stage we needed to do this to get the schemes off the ground.

We will be competitive, have been trading within the modified/performance Insurance sector since 1996 (it's pretty much all we do), have good technical knowledge and offer decent, relevant cover for the enthusiast.

At this stage it will be a case of helping as some of you, establishing a credible scheme with our Underwriters and then looking to expand further.

We hope we can help.

Kind regards

Tony

Excluding M3's, Evo's, 200's and Imports will cut out a fair chunky of RMS

Scrob,

   Excluding the historically volatile business is a measure that has been imposed to protect scheme growth, but once a decent level of business has been built up under the RMS scheme for the vehicles/profiles that we can cover we will be looking to expand to help as many members as possible.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi 106lad,

Most of the province will be lower rated than London, so moving there (depending on which part of london) may result in a premium increase.

Rating wise, we will always look to do the best we can first time. We do tend to be better for higher horsepower or extensively modified vehicles.

The Saxo/106's do experience a higher than average frequency of claims, which is primarily due to their attracting younger drivers than most other vehicles. This may be a reason as to why we were not as competitive as usual.

Cover wise, our base policies have a good level of standard cover and in addition we offer the like-for-like, track and agreed value options.

Many thanks for trying us (y)

Tony

Got a quote which was higher than that of a rival,

Steven,

I'd replied to your PM using e-mail and have done my best to answer individual queries.

I've copied the content of the e-mail into a PM and sent it again just now.

Whilst i'll always try to maintain a presence here and get back to you asap, the problem that I will have is that i'm just one guy and adding another forum to my existing role at Greenlight would impact upon my workload.

If you have a question or query that requires an urgent reply it would be better to call our office on 01277 263030, as we have plenty of staff like me that talk your language (ie. mods/performance cars) as well as being Insurance professionals who would be able to help.

The moral of the story is i'll do my best and will get back to you, but will not always be available for an instant reply to a PM..

Kind regards

Tony

Carefully
I have to say i started a policy with greenlight in August of this year, group 20 car and it came in at just over £1000 with everything declared and i was well pleased.

Not only that but their customer service isn't that of a normal "call centre" anytime i've phoned they are more than friendly / helpful and actually LISTEN which is something alot of other companies don't.

I'd highly recommend them and i'll keep using them for performance cars.

I actually had a discussion with one of their staff when insuring the car about the NI market for performance cars and they said they were keen to break in, i'm glad to see you's taking it further, hoefully it drives other prices down.

I can safely say I have known of Tony@Greenlight for sometime now through PASSIONFORD, as im a regular member!

Without a doubt the best company to insure your car with!! Put it like this, with every single mod declared on my RS TURBO, now remember thats 301.9bhp, they quoted around the £1000 mark for a 22 year old, no other company in the world would come close to this!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!

Tony good to see you on RMS!!!

Thanks for sharing your experiences people.

g4ost/skiman - glad we could help (y)

When dealing with a new forum you never know exactly what to expect, the response from members has been fairly high so we've beefed up our quote section.

This will mean that those of you awaiting quotations will receive your quotation faster.

Kind regards

Tony
