Can you tax your car online following a SORN?

SORNd the car as couldn’t renew the tax due to not being able to get an MOT appointment, once I’ve got it MOTd, can I restart the tax online just as if I was renewing it? Or do you have to go to the Post Office?

Yeah all online. I do it every year with the scoob when winter is past.
Thanks. Do you have to wait a day or two after the MOT to do it online so that the records update themselves or can you do it pretty much right away?

I think it’s all pretty instant these days, I’ve never done it just after MOT though as mine is usually done in autumn before it goes into hibernation, so it still has a valid MOT when it comes back out for summer.

Anyone know what happens if you drive past a tax van on the way to tax a ‘new’ car. I swear my son is going to put my head away!! 😂

Was in this scenario today and searched to see if I could tax straight after. V5C was already in my name and could tax online straight away after after MOT. System still saying sorned and not mot’d but have the paperwork.
