ive been looking through a few car cleaning product websites for good/cheap waxes and want to know can anyone recommend any car waxes for around 10-15quid?

the ones I'm currently looking at are poor boys nattys paste wax or mequiars 16-paste wax...
    any recommendations?

    thanks, rossi.

to be honest I would go for a very good sealant like Zaino or Chemical guys rather than a cheap wax .

Collinite 476s is £13 I think on cleanyourcar, good hard wax lasts forever in the wee tub too!

BH Auto-balm as already mentioned. What you get will last you 18 months, that's how sparingly it should be used.
Collinite 476 - very good wax.
Meg's #16 Mirror Glaze - very good wax for the price, and supposedly Zymöl Carbon in a Meg's tin, with a Meg's price tag.

Sealants to consider would include Zaino, but not without considering Duragloss, and Optimum Opti-Seal, which is spray/wipe/walk away - so no buffing required.

lol no I would go for a sealant like chemical guys or Zaino. Im My opinion Zaino is the best you can get by a country mile and will give far better results than any cheap wax. Sealants will last longer and give a better finish whilst helping (some) to mask up swirl marks or minor imperfections. I have tried many waxes over the yraes (now have over 100 different brands ranging from £10 to £2500 per tub and the cheap ones do give as good a finish but just dont last as long as the premium brands. as Phil says Auto-balm is good as is Collinite megs #16 was the origional Zymol Carbon as Megs made it for them but the new one is a different recipie brewed for zymol by someone else. on sunny days the cheaper waxes get rosted off your car at about 80degrees which in the middle of summer on a dark car is easily achieveable

Dont get me wrong there are some great low cost waxes out there my favorites are Victoria wax and Mothers stage 3 Californian wax which I have used on many details and on a freshly and well corrected panel look awesome but I would recommend topping up every 4-6 weeks and limiting waxhing to a maximum of once a week with PH neutral products.

Collinite 476s is a great value for money wax but a nightmare to remove from paintwork, an ideal wax for someone who doesn't wax their car religiously and perfect for the winter months

PB's paste waxes are again good value for money and a lot easier to use than Collinite - but not sure about the durability, depends on what you want from your waxes TBH

when budgeting on a wax you pay for what you get, you'll get a variety of opinions on here

So many opinions, so many choices!!

I haven't bought wax for ages as my Blackfire Midnight Sun has lasted me donkey's! So much so, it's up about £20 more than what I paid for it!!

So, what is the best wax in and around £30 for cleanyourcar? (as I want to order a few things from their site)

I want a wet look to blue paint. I don't want something that will take ages to rub off so ideally a soft wax unless someone can tell me the benefits of a hard wax...

    Thanks

    Educate me guys!

I'm still using autogylm super resin on my car the odd time it gets done!

What is going to make the cayman black look super shiny and make the water beed like a mofo?

Ps I only polish the car 3 times I year max so I'm looking something that will be lasting on the paint work.

Collinite 476s can't be beaten for the money!

Zaino gives a very clinical look without the 'glow' you get from regular waxes or hybrids. I'm personally not a fan.

For anyone saying Collinite is hard to remove clearly isn't using it correctly. One panel at a time, and half a bonnet at a time. One or the easier products to use, wait until you try Zymol for hard work!

With any product, if you ever have trouble removing it. Simply apply it once again over the top and then remove, simples.

Only a high end wax will better it.

It's all in the prep, simple as that. No matter what any one tells you the LSP has very little to do with it. LSP is for protection.

I know you're a big fan of g-techniq tim - I love their glass sealant.

Have you used any of their sealants?

I'm a long time fan of 476 purely for its durability.

I need to give my RRS a good going over but Ronnie - you had mentioned that sports suffer from sticky paint and a rotary won't be as effective as a DA on them? Do you think with the new meguiars DA microfiber pads I would get better results than either a DA with normal pads, or a rotary with normal pads (3M)

Finally, for LSP I don't know what to use. As mentioned, I am a big fan of 476. I also have the BH auto balm which I honestly don't rate as an LSP - it's more of a polish with fillers, and I also have some BH finis wax which I did think was great, but isnt really compatible with e autobahn, and definitely doesn't have the durability they are saying it does.

Any suggestions for my LSP on the sport - wax or sealant? I'm swaying towards a sealant as my sport is normally washed 4 or 5 times a week(TFR with a hot powerhose approx 50'C, no sponge) and sponge washed over the weekend..

    Thanks in advance
