Also, never had a problem with induction kits for MOT's. As long as it passes the emissions test, there's no issue.
Its the emissions i was wondering about. Cant see it but just wanted to be sure

Actually one thing to be careful of is crank case breathers. If it vents to engine bay they can fail it on emissions.
Thanks, i am aware of that one (have been caught out before!). Its on her Golf and the kit uses the original pipework so crankcase breather is recirculated in to the throttle body. Will fit a catch can eventually.

An air filter will make no difference at all for MoT emissions. That's what the O2 sensors on the exhaust are for, so the engine management can sort all that out.

As for breathers, on the Honda in the Lotus the breather is just straight off the head into the bay. Not even a hose. Never had anyone even mention it, never mind complain about it.

Pretty sure the Evo is the same too. The breather hose just vents to air behind the gear box. Nobody has mentioned or complained about that either.

It may be engine dependent though. The T5 on the Volvos for example doesn't like it at all if it vents to air (broken PCV hoses...).

Changing exhaust should be ok too as long as the O2 sensors and cats are still there, and functional. If not then it's best to get the mapping checked. Which is always a good idea anyway to get the best out of it.
