Can anyone tell me what this connection is on my Mini iPod lead? It goes into the iPod interface, unfortunately it is the older style Apple cable which doesn't charge newer devices and I was hoping to get a newer style cable.

I know u can get an adapter but it is a bit ugly so I would prefer to look for a replacement cable if possible.

    Any ideas?

Problem is likely the unit (car stereo?) as its putting out 12v and the new ones only work on 5v

So the adapter might be the only option. You could put the adapter on the end then have an extension cable so the adapter can remain hidden.

You sure it's not one of those leads that connects to the CD changer port on the back of the head unit? I reckon it has too many pins for S-Video

Well now that I have the kit installed and the dash back together, I don't think I can be arsed pulling it all out again just to change the lead, so an adapter will do the job. It's hidden away in the glovebox anyway, so no big deal. Productive day - goodbye Cassette/CD Changer, hello front load CD and iPod link :)
