Thought about that but want a real good tidy job done that will last, seen one at NW200 this year done in England @ a fraction of the cost of a ready made one, I just want to know if anyone over here does this before I have to look futher afield!!!

its a pig of a job,IMO, but loads of people are doing it but not everone is doing it right if you catch my drift. there is a guy in downpatrick who scraps touring caravans which is a good place to get cookers water heaters space heaters and a fridge, also he does the windows basically everything you will need, if you could buy a cheap van with all in it, if it was damp and pretty rough you'd pay 450 - 900 for it you can even use the furniture out of it.

the problem comes with getting an engineers report for the change of use obviously if you want to insure it and use it as a camper van, it would need inspected and have a gas installation certificate saying everything is ok.

the guy in downpatrick is leisure services and you'll get his number off yell but he isnt back till monday so call him then. any questions just ask me i work on tourers for a living and have done so for about 5 years so i know a wee bit.

Paul Cullen has done his type4 LWB van recently on a very small budget.

    Ikea is your friend.

His van has come about from years and years of VW campers and this is the most logical and well thought out homebuilt camper I have ever seen.

Can also vouch that it is not only comfortable, but warm and very useable.
