Does anybody know of anyone who does this sort of thing over here? been searching about but cant get any info....lookin to get the evo done before the winter kicks in and the saltly roads return....its an 8 import so has no underseal at all on it and i wanna keep it good Any help or recommendations greatly appreciated Cheers
Give the Motor Gym a shout iirc they have a offer Motorgym Bangor Now that 'Summer' is over, it's time to start thinking about winter motoring. We offer FREE vehicle health checks that include inspections of your car's tyres, battery and anti-freeze. We can also underseal your vehicle from as little as £99. Call us on 9145 3310 to make a booking.
Im interested in this on the wifes new car also, we have had two ka's die over the last two winters and I dont have the time for a DIY job that might not be good enough
Most people tend to do it themselves, get the car in the garage up on axle stands send whip the wheels of her and start painting! I personally prefer Hammerite Undersea with Waxoil, covers well and seems to be hardwearing.
Ai autosport does it too, Give Johnny a bell no better man to look at an Evo even for the most simplest tasks
Great fellas thanks for the quick replies! Its goin into Johnny most likely this week for a bit of servicing and a check over so ill get speaking to him then, wanna get speaking to him about more horsies from it too....hope i dont get bitten by the same tuning bug you did Bronk
your probably right man lol.....out of interest would you have an idea what id need for high 300's to around 400bhp? Is it possible with standard internals and fuelling? was thinking walbro, remap, downpipe, and a bigger turbo(80 series?)...already has the downpipe back decatted magnex and a K&N induction kit
All of the above Problem is tho.. The standard internals will be out of their comfort zone some Evo's r ok.. N there's others that just crumble Jonny will keep ya right..
Easiest way to get 400 bhp from an internally standard evo engine is to sell it and buy a Cosworth - They came proper from the factory, in the 1980s Pity it's the only bit they got right lol
cheers bronk, suppose im best not chasing bhp figures, but ill go with the few bolt ons and a remap first and see how i go from there, ya always want more though
Make sure it's done properly... It needs to be thoroughly washed, dried, treated and then undersealed. The actual undersealing bit is easy enough (albeit dirty). The treating bit is a total nightmare plus it needs time to dry thoroughly. DIYing it took me 3 solid weekends on the Jeep though I did the MK3 much quicker because it's not going to be out in the rain. You could also just have the stuff lashed on with a brush in an hour or two but I think that'll do more harm than good, especially if it's put on over dampness or existing rust.
I wonder why Same as Bronk, sureclean done a great job on my teg taking it one day, full clean underneath then underseal, cleaned up and handed back the next day
@AIRFORCE1 number is 07713387382.. if he doesent answer, leave a voicemail or a txt and he will get back to you as he is normally flat out
Sure Clean and Jonny at AI seem to be good. Ive also used Les @ Turkington Pitstop for my MR2 and Datsuns did a great job
