Long story short, the Vette needs two front tyres. A few americans i know seem to refer to the type of tyre im after as a 'supercar' tyre. lol
Currently on it are GoodYear Eagle F1 supercars - P265/40ZR17
These are the original factory tyres.

Im now looking to change them as theyre border legal.

Unfortunatly,at a glance theres not too many options out there in this size.
    so far ive seen-

Goodyear eagle F1 supercars (as on it now)
    Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

And even at that, they done seem easy to buy over here... moreso the goodyears.

I was hopeing someone maybe had a Porker/ferrari etc in the garage or the likes with similar tyre size and demands that might have a little experiance on tyre choice. I know theres prob noone who has used the good year, so hard to compare. but even reviews on the Pilot PS2 might be helpful?

I cant go on a track type tyre (although ide love the extra grip), as the tyres i fit now will be on it for many years due to the miles the car does... and track tyres tend to try up over heat cycles more tan a good road tyre.

Any help on this is great guys.

    Cheers.

Probably not much help but 911's have their own insurance specific "Porsche" tyre, we have Continentals on ours.

I used to run mine on mitchy ps2 runflats....never had a problem with them and plenty of grip in the cold weather. bauer millet in manchester was usually the best but sometimes magowan tyres in mallusk were able to source me rare sizes and I'd rather buy local where possible.....

I tried most of the top of the range Michelin tyres on the back of the MR2 and found them to be universally useless. Always ended up going back to track type tyres - just my experience - sorry

Magowan tyres as above can get most stuff in

See if you can find Toyo R1R or Yokohama AD08 in those sizes.

Anything in particular you do not like on the Eagles? Have them on the Audi, just fine for normal roads and even the odd trackday.

Rocko- fully lol'd at that.lol... Funny cuz it's almost true. Ha

I've used good year eagle gsd3's on the accord, and went to the eagle assymetrics . Brilliant tyres. But then changed to the Toyo r1r's as theyre every bit as good in the wet and much better in the dry without going as far as a full r888 or the likes. All are good tyres. And I can't say I have anything against the eagle f1 super cars either. But the supercars seem to be a b*tch to get over here. :(
Don't know if the ad08 would do for a seasonal car, strikes me as a tyre thats best when fresh, might dry up and lose a good bit of it grip over the years. Fine for if it was getting changed any time soon, but these won't. The r1r might just about fall into this catagory too?

I seem to hear mixed reports about the pilot sports.. Which doesn't install confidence either. Rock and a hard place it seems. :(

Personally I would stick with the Eagles for occasional road use. No need to change all four then either. Seem to hold up well in storage too, but to be honest all tyres go hard over time.

In Belfast, Gilnahirk Tyres and Central Tyres both source Eagle F1 no problem. Just have to be ordered in. Switched to asymmetric myself recently too, have to say I prefer them over the GSD3, worth the little bit extra.

    Never used Pilot Sports myself.

unfortunatly, 'But it only does 10 miles a year' isnt a suitable answer for Mr MOT man, or the feds when they pull u over lol. so it wil need tyres at some point this summer

    Ill keep hunting. :)

Can't get pzeros in my size.

BASICLY, I have three option which are readily available in uk-

    Fallen FK-452's
    Toyo Proxeys T1-sport's
    Michelin pilot sport 2's

    Anyone used any of these?
At the minute I'd prob more likely to go with the toyos or the michelins ?

I've had Michelin PS2's on numerous cars, always my first choice of tyre.

I really want to try the Supersports though, Chris_b has them on his CSL and says they're fantastic.

I had the P Zeros on the Diablo and at that time was the only recommended tyre for it, but they were allot bigger, 335 section tyres. But it ran 2 types of P Zero, fronts were different from the rears, directional and Asimmetrico from memory.
