    Would you hump a hefty girl in public? tantamount to driving a diesel metro.

    An old retro Austin Metro, with some nice mods yes - a Rover Metro, I'm not so sure.

    Any pics of example cars?

    Edit - Coog is on the money with the above Austin Metro! (y)

    metro's are class crack, i bought my mum one years ago for £200 and it went for 2 years with needing nothing, not even oil lol. i dont know how she kept running. was only meant as a stop gap for a week or two lol

    One thing I will say against the Metro, they are deathtraps.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIs1DaxEcfs]YouTube - Rover 100 Euro NCAP Crash test[/ame]

    and

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ5kll20FLc]YouTube - Crash test Rover 100 (2)[/ame]

    1 star rating, and that was in 1995 when they had to issue a 1 star rating!

    If I was a young lad like you, id look towards a MG ZR 1.4 or even a Rover 200 1.4 to keep insurance down if you want to stay within brand etc.
