Scrapped Car Question

    a mate of mine sent the tax book off for a car he was going to scrap

    few months later he still had the car an another mate bought it off him
    but wants to know ca it be put back on the road?

    the car is perfect, needs a set of wheels and a door as the old 1 is dented a bit but the car starts an drives fine

    is there anyone that kows can this be saved?

    Well you would have to VIC the car to get it back on the road id assume if its been listed as scrap? As for all they know you could have rebuilt the car up with a couple of motors or it could be a cloned ringer lol.

    V5 part, dunno, maybe just have to apply for replacement book once its tested and get issued with new registration etc?

    Just found this, probably exactly what you need: http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/vehicle-identity-check_vic.htm

    But looks as if basically you should contact DVA, give them the reg, they will tell you if it needs a VIC, book VIC, if it passes then you'll apply for V5, get a V5, then looks as if you'll have to MOT it and take it from there with all the usual gubbins thereafter :)
