Do you mean width or what? I have 215/45/17's on a sierra with no problem. I'm pretty sure escos rims with 225 tyres will fot no problem without fouling the arches.
I'm pretty sure ya cant go any higher profile than a 40 but its the width i dont know about. The wheels measure 9" wide which would mean maybe a 225 tyre anyway wouldn't it?
a 225/45/16 tyre should be fine i think, probably depends on how low the sierra is escort cossie rims are 8"wide
Yeah they are 225 as standard, although there's a clampet on here with 205 series tyres on his, lol!! cough*** steven85 **cough
The inside of the rim is 8" wide but the full rim is 9"! I'm told 45's are no good on them at all for a sierra. Hoped some1 else on here had some experiences.
Surely thats a bit wierd. To be right you'd need 225 wouldn't ya? Do you mean standard escort cossie wheels come 225 wide?
Right - 8" rims are FINE on a sapphire, the problem with escort cosworth alloys is the offset, not the width. In my opinion Escort wheels look turd on anything but an escort cosworth - you can pick so many better rims for a sapphire.
Its a good job we've all different tastes lad. If any1 knows what size of tyres you'd need on the escort cossie wheels to fit the sierra i'd be more than glad to hear from them. Thanks
Mate had them on his Sapphire. Its a few years ago, but I think he had 225/50 tyres on and there wasn't much rubbing. It was lowered a bit too
You need silly looking tyres on the Escort wheel to prevent rubbing - as i said its due to the offset being specific to the escort cossie. Esc cossie wheels only look right with the correct tyres on them. Also as you have an 8" wide wheel, you want to make the most of it and get the wide tyres on, gives more grip.
