I have a boot build sorted already for the Mrs Astra. What I need is:

    2 x 12" subs
    front components
    Amp to power it all

Can anyone recommend a good setup? And maybe where is good to buy from?

    Thanks

    Keith

Nah, the build is really nice and if she wants to go fast she can borrow the Nova.

Do not put in 2 12" woofers - been there done that and the smaller systems I have had in the past have blown 2x12" woofers out the water!

Personally go with one 10" and decent components up front like in my A3:

    10" D6 Diamond
    K2P 6.5" Components
    Genesis Dual Mono
    Genesis 4 Ch
    Audio Control EQL

Sound quality was awesome, minimal light build, didn't take up the whole boot and I loved it! Also consider some sound deadening as this can also perfect the SQL.

Build is already done. It's Elaine's old GSI. So it's an AA build. So all we need is two 12" subs, components and an amp to run the lot!

Not looking to spend a fortune either.

    Budget?

On a budget JL 12w3 subs are truly hard to beat. They are around £80 each second hand. I've had a couple of pairs of them in my day and they're first class. The D5/D6 from Diamond are great too, I had the former.

Also had a 12w6, but they're about £200 each and 2 would be a bit OTT (for my old ears anyway).

Front components, Focal Access. Circa £100 but excellent quality.

£4-500 tops for all that including 2 amps.

i run a JL 10w0 in a 0.65cuft i made with just an Alpine PMX-F640 bridged and it sounds brilliant. even though im underpowering it the sub is cracker, really punchy and can still go pretty loud (loud enough for me!)
my HU is an Alpine ida-x001.
