6 minutes of glorious in car action from Colin driving a MG Metro 6R4 in style, from the Donegal International Rally in 2006. Includes a very big moment towards the end. Turn up the sound

Yeah, about that. Killarney 2007 had roughly 28 WRC cars start, which I think is the best entry of all time. Mind you, Donegal in 2007 would have run it close

Not far off anyway! It was a sheer delight to see McRae peddle the Metro

    Donegal was mental that weekend!

just thinking, does anyone think Loeb could drive one of these like that? Loeb seems to be only at home in his technology driven WRC car.

could spend hours on YouTube watching McRae :)

Think McRae had a general nack of being instantly fast out of the box in anything he got into, love watching his grpA stuff

Took Loeb a long time to learn all the different surfaces IIRC he was good on tarmac, but it took him a fair few seasons to up his game on gravel etc.

Awesome awesome stuff. I dont think the Metro would suit Loeb at all.... at first but i wouldnt bet against him mastering it the guy is a serious pilot make no mistake. Im pretty sure if he had come up in the same era as McRae he would be able to drive just as well.

I was at Donegal that year and spectated on that stage too - so happy i got to see Colin for a second time (first was '92 on the Ulster iirc)

In 08 the whole field beside the Milford near Saturday Service was full of them, great sight on its own.....The pace the boys were setting back then was astonishing, so much competition and commitment

The only sight ive seen in rallying that was better than Colin in the 6R4 that weekend.......was Colin in a Modified Escort in Killarney

I saw him in the Escort in Killarney, missed the metro due to a dose of the Chicken Pox that bed bound me for a week :(
