Anyone have this or can comment on it? I have a policy due for renewal next week and we have several separate policies running at present. Would rather combine and I know some places do an extension to other vehicles as well. Your thoughts please?
We've used Abbey Bond Lovis' Portfolio for several years now. They insure your house(s), and cars on one policy, worked out a lot cheaper. Addition of extra cars after about two or three is often not much more than an admin fee. Also nice to deal with and you get to talk to a person in NI rather than a call centre, also flexible about higher group stuff and younger drivers. I realize this probably sounds like an advert but we've been quite happy with them tbh.
We had portfolio and Lost all our NCB when we came off it.. ***** buzz it was what we needed tho with my dad insuring 9 cars in the back yard and my sis and i insured as named drivers there was no other real options.
How come Iian? Ideally I would like a policy that covers all cars for me & the misses, offers some sort of extension to another car so test drives etc can be accommodated and one that covers a few track days PA as well. I know they exist out there including track day cover but just not sure who best to speak too
That was the terms, we knew that at the time when we where taking it out but it was the most simple way to insure so many motors. We just had a Zurich policy that Covered out Properties and All the Cars, no track or towing cover or anything motorsport related.
What is portfolio insurance? I have two car insurance policies (jeep and car), 1 classic policy covering three cars, 1 camper van policy and a van policy currently covering two vans. Can all of these be insured together somewhere?
I use Dawson Whyte In Belfast....! Have done for 4+ years.... I have a point of contact there, if you need it Chris....
Well perhaps but I think it is the only way I would consider going on the track. Plenty of guys on the register seem to have policies whereby they are covered for up to 5 days per year. Would be a nice bonus but either way I am sure as opposed to forking out for all these separate policies this could save a few quid.
Some portfolio policies are fine. But your house has to be valued at over 250k and you must own 4 vehicles or more for most of them. Alot of the time individual policies work out cheaper. As Iain says, usually, no one actually earns a bonus, so when you need to go out on your own it can be alot of hassle.
Alot of companies will insure you for a few days a year but be careful as to what tracks they cover - alot seem to not cover kirkistown.
