Good work Gee! Really looking forward to the first event - car is nearly ready thankfully. Full cage etc has been fitted, really just the extinguisher to go now I think
Hopefully you get sorted in time - you anything sorted with a car yet? I've still my test to do but have the forms all filled in so just need to phone Richard and get the date sorted!
Nope, no car no test yet! I thought i had a deal done with a megablade in against the megabusa... but that hasnt happened Need the megabusa away 1st.. have dropped the price so if theres anyone actually looking one it should sell at this price.. Heres the add if you know anyone looking.. Westfield : 2004 Westfield Megabusa
There is still time for you to get sorted yet! If I hear of anyone looking I will send them your direction.
how long in advance does richard need to get the license sorted? i couldnt believe the price of the race license!! kart license is peanuts in comparison!
Yeah, dont want to part with the busa tbh, but i need some form of motorsport back in my life, trackdays arent cutting it for me... So try and get back into it, will be great to do a few hills and sprints again too
Richard has the licence packs - they are £50. After that just give him a few days notice that you want to do the test and that's you - you don't need to do it in the seven. You'll need to allow time to send it off to the msa though. You, like me, won't need to get the medical done as I'm sure you've already submitted one from Karting. It is an extortionate price but at least you get some testing and your first race for free thank's to the 500 club - makes the blow not so bad!
ahh is that right, 1st race free, thats not bad then with the testing! Karting license hasnt been renewed since '07 so i prob will need one, think its every 3years, my GP is easy enough to work with anyways so that wouldnt take long, must get in touch with richard in the next week or so to see whats going down.
you'll definately need a 'Race National B' licence as minium Iain.. unfortunatly different to the kart licence... But as Paul mentioned, the club are kind enough to do a deal to ease the pain of the cost.... get it done, car bought, see you out there.... easy
Iain, I haven't renewed my karting license in longer than that and I got my medical done in 2003, I rang the msa and they said as I was under 45 the karting medical was enough!
ahh sweet then, i thought it was a medical every 3 yrs no matter what kind of license! let me know if you's come across any SVA'd, caged, blade engined 7's and sent the links my way!
there is a striker and couple of Mac 1 seven's with blade engines on pistons heads - both need a cage..
make that 5 weeks now !! Iain - sent you an e-mail ref: a very good car for sale locally that is on the money............
If my stupid quick rack would arrive I'd maybe get some testing done Sven he could run the busa but not in the NI Sevens Racing class as it is limited to 929cc where as the busa is 1300 or thereabouts! There would be a class he could run in but would be up against Radicals etc.
