Not sure I'd really miss not having fog lights. Mine go on about once a year lol.

Mine are never on either, as i'm not wanting any fine. But the difference with them on is immense. On poorly lit roads. Obviously like motorway and big A roads, they don't make a difference, unless there is fog, lol.

They are even good in housing estates, Nearly clipped a few skate boards lieing about, would of been easier seen with the fogs on.

I use the fogs on the van down little single lane country roads.

Does make a difference as the light out the sides quite a bit too. But anywhere else they are pretty useless, even in fog :D

The fogs lights and turning lights may of prevented this type of accident, which is very common. Obviuosly not for just city drivers though, lol.

Never even knew about this until this thread, then I saw it on what looked like a new Polo in the rear view. Odd indeed but I suppose there is rationale behind it.

The 197 has them and its almost 5 years old so not like its a new idea. I have to admit they are pretty pointless though , I haven't experienced any situation where they have been of benefit, yet.

Don't know if this has been mentioned on the thread but I experienced meeting a car coming down around a tight right-hander a few nights ago. His corner light came on and I being in the vehicle going the opposite way found them to be highly distracting!

Yes mate, directional fogs were on Rev 1 & 2 JDM cars. Not sure if it was an option, but all the Rev 1 cars i've had has had them. My Rev 3 JDM doesn't have them.:'(

As you say, you are already round the corner before they move as they aren't the faster things in the world, a small motor powering a reflector inside the fog light. They are notorious for rusting and therefore seizing, rendering them as a normal fog light, BUT, they are a JDM y0! feature so maximum cool points awarded for having them (i've a full set of them with all wiring/ECU for sale if anyone's interested by the way;) ).

No more distracting than them blue flashing lights you'd see in the rear view mirror, lol.

Tell her to open her eyes then when she is driving, lol. ^:o):p

I mean fogs light up teh ditch/verge. I haven't actually experienced these lights that come on when you turn, but can't be bad, any extra light to the ditch/kerb.
