As the title, got the civic last year from a dealer in September. Only came with the one key. Need the second key as Im going to sell up soon.

Ive spoke to him quite a few times asking if he got the spare key from the previous owner but no joy at all.

Is there anything I can do to get the previous owners details to get in contact. The dealer says he has contacted her numerous times and all he gets is too busy etc.

Ive also found the second key to my old Ibiza so that needs given to the new owner.

    Thanks

Do the DVLNI usually ask for phone numbers? Don't think I've ever filled it in?
Have you had a look in the phone book?

Any ideas on how I could give the owner of my old Ibiza the spare key. Obviously I have no use for it.

It's so dear to get a second key.
I went through this when I first got my car, it was an insurance write off and only came with one key. I wrote a letter to the previous owners (giving only a phone number, didn't want them to know where to find the car in case they did have a key and weren't nice people); turned out they were lovely, they rang and told me they had given everything to the insurance company. Wrote a letter to the insurance company asking for the spare key, manuals etc but got no response. Rang Charles Hurst as that was where the car came from originally. Spare key was going to cost £90, for a turning key, not even for a push-button one!
Got sorted out by the Key Centre on the Beersbridge Road for £45 or so, dear enough.
Hope you do get sorted Razor.

Well see thats what i was wondering, how expensive it would be to get a 2nd key, guess I'll have to pop into Pat Kirks someday & found out.. a complete rip off knowing them.. :(

Who, where or what is this Key Centre on the Beersbridge Road that you speak of Alison?

I just got a standard key, the one key I did get was just standard, my car hasn't got remote central locking. Really must look into getting it though, hate trying to find the keyhole in the dark.
You never know, they might do the remote keys, you should ring and ask anyway :)

    Cheers for the info Alison.
Going to give the DVLNI a call tomorrow, if not might just make a random trip to the previous owners address lol.

Any ideas on how to give the second key to the owner of my old Ibiza? Ok to post a reg up incase anyone on here knows him/her

Problem is the key will only cost you £15 or so. that will allow you to open the doors. If you want it to actually start the car you need to program it to the Ford PATS. You need two working keys to program a third. If you only have the one key it needs done buy Ford.
Although the PATS can be permanently buy passed for the price of a tube of superglue.

Oh rite.. typical, anything i wana do can never be simple or straightward.. lol Looks like Pat Kirks it is.. *-)
So its sounds like your talking from experience? Although if someone already had 2 programmed & working keys then why would they want to get a 3rd cut? Seems abit stupid..
