Spotted this on another board, suppose its cool if you had the time, money and inclination... but why..? http://www.digital-car.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=6952&highlight=360
the 406 coupe lookalike is supposed to be very close to the real thing, the main giveaway is the fact that the 406 has wider a-pillars.
mr2 was in max power a few months ago. i think it looks well. plenty of detail - think they said it cost around 30 grand in total inc car cant be sure tho
I see the point in this but surely the thought of a VTS leaving you for dead at the lights is enough to put people off the idea.
LOL!! Ive never been a fan of these, and certainly never will, but the guy admits himself that he's not doing it to fool people, but just to have something different. Im with everyone else, and would take an M3, M5, TVR etc, but he said they're everywhere. Seems like a decent enough chap + fair play for having a go i suppose. I wonder what parts a real??
pmsl! Somehow no matter how accurate the replica, I stil wouldnt have one, The engine note would never be the same!
there are also replica lambos based on mark 2 mr2- heres a few vids i found wonder how much they would weigh with replica kit [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=8OffOSYM-oQ&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=XIqX3rFAgqQ&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=6Y9TSJ9EKBA&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=qw6a8lMoS28&feature=related[/ame]
wow...serious work and it actually looks really good. however still have to ask...why? what is the point? id much rather have a 355 for the money, tahn an MR2 with a bodykit.
Exactly^^^ I would feel like a complete spanner having to admit that my car was infact not a real Ferrari but actually a massive lump of isopon clad wrongness.
its like taking the type r and m badges to a whole new level lol also normal civics done up like type r's but i have to admit i wouldnt mind one of those lambo replicas as i sure as hell couldnt afford a real one. with some serious tuning it wouldnt be so bad but def wouldnt be the safest of cars to be in
Looked at alot of these recently and reckon would be a pretty good wee project to get a damaged MR2 and get the lambo kit on it. Seen a few kits for a few grand and they really look amazing. Side by side there is no easily identifiable difference between genuine and replica. That being said its not something I would do, mainly due to the costs and the chances of the car getting damaged/stole. I guess this is another 'horses for courses' job. I wouldn't look down on anyone thats spent the time and effort to create a replica whether it was a lambo or ferarri. At the end of the day its a kit car (of sorts), and I certainly wouldn't sneer at anyone in an AC Cobra replica because it wasn't the real deal.
