Bad news with your wee clio m8, that one on gumtree is well overpriced imo, although there is a nice one with turbines etc in dublim, prob is i dunno what import stuff is required to bring it up north...
Dont rush into it buddy the wee valvers some up now and again at the right money..
Ive went through about 5 of em lol buying/selling swapping parts etc..
Or even gather a few quid together and take yourself on a wee road trip to england/scotland to pick a nice one up, for about the same cost as just the car here..
    To give you an idea,,,
Im only back from scotland i went to pickup a v6 3.2 engine and gearbox i bought, with ferry fares x2 as my bro went with me, food, fuel, spending money etc i got the engine and box back here and still saved about £300 on the cost of the same thing here... was fun and completely mad,, i went in another clio im using as a run about, was well decked on the way back with the weight hehe

I more than likely could but i just don't have the heart to throw more money into it. I'm sure someone else will buy the shell and bring it back to life. The wheels are now sold

I'm still unsure what I'm going to do with the car so don't want to go throwing a 1.2 engine into it. hoping to lift the engine out in the next couple of days then i can see what state the shells in and if it's worth holding onto.

If the shell's good stick it into storage and come back to it in a while as a project when you have money.

So did i.. Suppose its not a good time to sell a car. Yea insurance is a real killer, found it quite hard to find a company that would do it

Bit of an update. After a couple of days of working on the car i lifted the engine out today, plan is to prime and spray the bay, drop in the 1.8 when i get the other parts (which i still don't have :( ) Back of the car is stripped out. Wheels are sold and so are a few other pieces. So overall plan is to track the car as i would love a wee project track car. No point wasting the shell :p Some nice pics below (poor quality)
