had a fight with a kerb and the kerb won.. is this refurbable and where would be the best place to take it? cheers!
Wee buns that! You could fire some chemical metal over it and spray over if you were really game and wanting a temp job
Not so sure about that anymore. They refurb'd the wheels on my Dad's F10 and they corroded. Bavarian sent them to some other company this time whose name escapes me, but they did a first class job and left them with the proper machined polished look.
Did you go direct to Nuluk themselves or through Bavarian? Wouldn't be the first time a dealer has lied to a customer and used a man in the back of a van service when charging Nuluk prices. That said, if they genuinely were refurbed there Jason will stand over them. I would just be cautious about believing anything you hear in the motor trade as gospel.
Nu luk only gave us six months anti corrosion if I remember right What about a new replica wheel?? Could be as cheap or in about same money as a refurb?? If reps are available of course
Pretty sure this is a car forum, if you don't know what I'm talking about then I'm sure Google will keep you right. @tim - pretty harsh statement there, you know fine well I've used Nu-Luk before on numerous occasions, through both Bavarian directly and through you. Just because you line one another's pockets doesn't mean they're flawless.
Yep car forum well done, clued in on all model codes nada speaking in codes means nowt, if you said yer da had a new 5 series then dead on you dont have to try to impress
Any wheel refurb place could sort it. Plenty of threads on here mentioning all the usual places. A replacement second hand rim and tyre would be cheaper than getting it repaired by nu-luk though.
Imagine this hypothetical situation for a moment. Customer: Arrives in dealership with car for service. Dealership: Spots kerb damage and spies an opportunity for an up sell. Customer: Agrees Dealership: Tells customer that they only send their wheels to the best and agree an over the odds price. Customer: Agrees Dealership: Then pay man in a van less than half and make huge profit for nothing. Taking advantage of hard working customer who is none the wiser. Customer: Then collects car thinking that he/she is receiving the best service possible. Until one to six months later and the poor finish starts looking worse for wear. Customer: Calls dealership Dealership: Blame the apparent refurbishment company. Customer: Regardless of outcome, his perception of apparent company he was told refurbed his wheels is damaged. I'm not saying that's what happened in this instance. I'm just saying, don't believe everything you're told.
Graeme, I don't think they are flawless, I know personally of wheels that have been redone in the past. But they redo them, that's my point. Even if you have a 99.9% quality rate that means 1 in every 1000 wheels would be sub-standard. That would mean quite a few every year in this companies case. Forgive me if I got the wrong end of the stick, I did not intend to offend. My thoughts ran to the above post and it wouldn't be the first time it has happened.
Nuluk aren't great anymore and I certainly won't be using them for repairs. Paint/powdercoat is always way too thick and covers small details in wheels. They claim they can't colour match one wheel to the rest of you car and insist on doing one side at least. Finish quality isn't on a par with the price they charge. That's based on seeing alot of sets of wheels from them. @chapletown - you may find that a local bodyshop will be able to fix that for you, the damage doesn't look too bad.
I've had bad experience with Nu-luk myself on several occasions, once on my dads car where we went direct and on my car that was done by Nu-luk through Isaac Agnew before I picked the car up, and I know it was Nu-luk who did them because they had my new car for over a week, I was getting impatient and wanted to go see for myself. True story
What Chris said. Come winter time, I'm looking at getting a couple of my E90 M3 wheels refurbed but understand they can be a total PITA to do, but since you mention the 'Machine polished look' these guys might just be for me.
I've never had any problems with Nu-luk. They are relatively expensive but I've always been happy with the quality of work and service. Why have people gone to Bavarian and other dealers for wheel refurb? I thought it was fairly obvious that they would shaft you at every opportunity?!
they dont know any better. ask any golf loving 5 series owner who nu-luk are and they will look at you blankly.
