Meeke now 2nd quickest, 17.2 down on Ogier. Had a puncture on front left for the last KM. Reckons he lost 3-4 secs.

Moves him to 2nd overall, 41 secs down on Mikko. Long way to go, but Kris is well placed :D

Brilliant first day!Meeke 17.2 off Ogier which gives him 2nd in ss4 very fast and hes also gone faster than mikko by i think 4 seconds alls good for tomorrow then.Kopseky has gone 4th.

All kris needs to do now is hold station and keep juha hanninen behind and it would be a mega 1st round for him
The big thing for Ogier was he had a perfect set up. Mikko was on studded tar tyres & more of a snow set up. Bound to have been a handful !

lol at the confusion a car from the last run through caused on Rally radio.

There wasnt much work done this afternoon (y). Ogier put in some stage. Up 3 places in one stage (y)

Ogier stormed that stage. Over 10 secs up on his first run and left everyone else trailing. He should get spectators to throw snow on the road all the time if he drives like that!

Meeke is playing the long game and well placed considering he had a puncture on the last stage. Also, well ahead of his serious championship rivals.

Too fast, slid wide before the bridge and well off road into the trees. Its the same spot that everyone else was so cautious on.

What a shame!!! Totally gutted for the 2 lads. :(
If he was able to do it last year with his 1st year in IRC he can do it again this year as he is doing the full Championship this year so its more rounds to be able to retain the title (y)

Mark Van Dalen from Kronos getting interviewed. Very philosophical. Reckons it was black ice and says he believes in Kris and that he can come back from this, given that he was in the same position last year.

    Vouilloz quickest
    Hanninen second
    Kopecky third

then Ogier, Hirvonen and Sarrazin. Wilks 7th fastest. Skodas look on the money.

SS6 starting now. Totally snow covered. Wilks off first.

Sarrazin off into a snow bank!!! Well stuck. Far too quick.

Spectators had to get him out. Lost 1 min 28 secs.
