Bloody scary, but thankfully both Driver and Co-Driver got out and walked away.

Hats off to the Roll Cage builder.

That's serious. Just a few years ago that would have been certain death. Testament to the safety advances.

    Not a bad tumble that!

A bit like the one at LeMans last year, McNish if I remember correctly. He went straight to the garage after that crash and kissed the engineers responsible for the tub/safety cell :)

Or like every other rally crash! Some are actually saying the cars are too safe, make drivers take too many risks - F1 cars tangling wheels, rally drivers into trees/rocks/down slopes, etc. A couple of decades ago, drivers simply would not do that as they knew it would end in a fireball, with them trapped in the middle of it.

Probably from a harness not quite tight enough.

Im stunned at a few saying this is not a big accident - i really wouldnt like to in that car at all. The car doesnt seem to be going that fast when it goes off but you get a real sense of speed when it starts into its roll. Imagine the G they are pulling inside that car as it barrell rolls initially. The first and subsequent impacts against the rocks are massive also.

Im presuming the car is a lightweight panel car hence why all the panels are been ripped off but imagine rolling in amongst all those boulders and rocks with the doors off - scary stuff

G force in this would be much higher due to speed

good old Travis in the Subaru.

both accidents could've been a lot worse, a hell of a lot of energy has been dissipated during the numerous rolls and what have you. no real sudden stops in both which causes the most harm!

My brother tried something similar a few years ago on the Easter stages, evo aluminium panels don't stand up to much, but the cages are the business.

No massive impacts but it went on for a long long time. And a big crane was needed to extract the remains.

I drove up the lower half of Pike's Peak in 1996 in a road car. Bloody scary, even at normal speed! It goes from tarmac at the bottom to mud and show at the top!

Best motor film ever - watch out for the bit at the top, where he drives into the sun, using one hand to shade his eyes, lol

Sadly it is all paved now, no more gravel. Last remaining gravel disappeared this year.
