Help Please £20k Budget

long story short my bro wants to treat himself to a newish motor preferably quickish big enough for him 2 kids and transprting mountainbikes from time to time , ive mentioned 197/200 clio ,megane rs , mps 3 edition 30 golf , white civic type r amongst others , ive talked him out of spending 25k on a new ford kuga ..what would you recomend hes not really into diesel

any help would be great

Yeah £20k will get you one with 50k miles or so.
