i'll definitely be giving terry a ring! he seems the man for the job! thanks for all the replys folks, successful thread!!
if you dont mind paying good money i'd say give phill egan a shout he is in bangor and does top class jobs! but his price reflets that his number is 028 9145 2647 he is a top man but as i said price reflects it...
i no of a good painter, who does all my work/ mooks cav / g_mac & ally mac's work.. he also painted daddy cruises dc2 when he had it.. the best painters i no!! but spose everyone has their favourites? and davey doesnt charge the earth either !! based just about 10 mile outside lisburn drop me a pm if you want his number
well smart arse i have paint work done by all the ones i listed, AND I CAN TELL YOU ALL THE ABOVE CAN PAINT not every body shop gets it right every time, alot of factors come into play when trying to match paint on an older car.. hopefully you will find a paintshop to forfill your needs
And a colour that isn't the correct colour remember to add that in Marky. And for u paying so little mate to one of them listed and them also doing the work twice u can't really complain as u were told the car is not the colour u told them it is!
yes mate, hopefully. try 5 times. and also, you clearly don't know what you're talking about as the paint that was a good match in the end was alpine white 3, which is what it says under the bonnet and what i said it was. just was a different brand to what that bodyshop normally use (a brand that a previous painter used and matched well 1st time). I don't know why you're even bringing this up as it has f*ck all to do with you and you don't know any of the facts. also, to clarify i have no problems with having to get paint re-done because of a poor match, i know this is all part of it and has to be expected. but the reason i am changing painter is because of the shocking service and poor care taken of my car. if you dont know a good painter as per thread title, dont post in here. simples.
John Jones on the mountstewart rd between Ards and greyabbey. I wouldn't take my car to anyone else. I have been using him for near 19 years, for everything from bumps to full on resprays. He takes pride in his work and it not as quick as he can get them in and out. Almost sure he done Neil's 205 as well
Just had my rear spoiler sprayed by Ben and the fellas in TLC in Craigantlet, decent price and a better than expected result given the state of my spoiler in the first place.
Id ignore most of the opinions of the keyboard warriors, and go see some of these painters work with your own eyes, talk to the painters and that will give you the best idea who is the one for the job. The problem with the internet is a company can do 99 perfect jobs and one bad job, and the forum people will only have an opinion based on the one bad job. And then keep referring to it for years to come!
Not really the case. There is a bit of a problem on here... some people feel unable to give an honest opinion on this because someone will come on and either sling mud or call them a 'keyboard warrior'. Some companies whether its a painters, mechanics or used car dealer have mates on here as members and those members won't allow a bad word said about the outfit. First sign of negativity results in a post like yours (or a few others in this thread). Problem is that some mugs (like me) take their word, assume the 99% rule is in force and end up getting a half assed job, poor service and generally shafted by being left without a car. Getting a poor service is hard to gauge by just looking at examples of work. I'm not the only one with this opinion... Anyway... I've seen some of the work that guy in Portaferry does (my mate is fond of smacking his cars off solid objects) and the job is perfect every time .
John Johnson has done all my paintwork to my cosworth and he does a lot of my friends cars as well. We are all fussy bastids and i'm happy with his work. He'll be painting my engine bay in a month or soo too. I've heard good reports about Terry Henry and the big paintshops, but i have to say after seeing some work from a few of the others mentioned on this thread (who i'm not going to name as i can't be arsed with all their fan boys ) i wouldn't let them paint my fence
Sq design or my mates up at TLC both top painters. Sq designs number is on the site but if you want the number for the painter at TLC give me a shout. People on this site will back both up. Although TLc is only up and runnin but Brendy has just got his spoiler back and it was perfect!
Iv never had a problem with SQDesign, they did all the work too my Corsa and painted the side of my Clio, both of which were a perfect colour match and great job, wouldn't take my car anywhere else But you'll get places people will rave about and other places people will slate. Painting a car is probably one of the hardest jobs in the world, couldn't pay me enough to do it
