i thought this kind of thing had already been done in this country with a certain dark blue focus rs/st, i can never remember which is which.
was working one night when a cop in belfast city centre told me they had seized the car from its owner as he had failed to pay a rather hefty set of fines for various driving offences so cops impounded the car, de-modified it and stickered it up with police livery and currently drive it about the town.

Defiantly a better way to make use of the cars, not sure how a Q7 could help the police mind you, certainly isn't going to work as an offroad pursuit vehicle.

Maddness, It should be sold and the money used to buy something more sensible.

How much is it replace tyres and run something like that? I would guess a lot more than your average patrol car, waste of tax payers money just so the cops can run about playing Miami Vice in Glasgow.^o)

I think its great, and servicing is carried out by the police mechanics, tyres wouldnt cost anymore than a RangeRovers. And im sure the Police dont pay the RRP on tyres either.

The Limavady project has been going over 3 years. Partnership between Limavady College, Roads Policing (Maydown) and the District Policing Partnershup. The Nissan Silvia s14 (called affectionally RSylv) was legally and safely modified and there was a fun interactive 10 week programme learning more about various motorsports, meeting motorsport celebs, tinting - how to do it, when you need to be able to see out, penalities if detected etc. Car raised £26k for Brain and Spinal Injuries Unit, Musgrave where 40% of admissions are victims of RTCs. The lucky winner of the raffle lived in Limerick.

Since that a motor club has been formed (all welcome!), The Police donated the Maydown ST220, 2 Vauxhall Astras were acquired and all modified for the track. 3 successful days were held at Kirkistown last year. All with Maydown Roads Policing in attendance and participation.

The Q&A forum (March 25), night is an opportunity for you all to come and put those burning questions that you need an answer to .. will be some good door prizes .. and an opportunity to see Meguiars detail a car. More info on our Facebook profile - Limavady Custom Cruisers.
