It doesn't need to be! There is still some action left yet ... http://www.reallymeansounds.com/for...-of-2011-sun-4-dec-new-1-7-mile-track.127723/ http://www.sideways-racing.com/
slight update to the list since this went online originally, list has been narrowed down now. roll cage/bars went in and decat bolted in List now reads as... (thumbs up for collected items) brake pads money set aside for fuel and other consumables (budget remember) brake fluid tool kit tie wraps extra oil jerry can coolant helmet tire pressure gauge Dad in support vehicle with all of the above crap Just few bits n pieces left to lift I realise people are going to look at this list and curl the lip..... no spare discs, spare tires etc etc but remember I'm not going out there to set lap times (roadster lol not gonna happen) I'm just going to have a laugh, enjoy driving in a way that isn't allowed on the road, and this is very much on a budget! hope this will encourage others to do a trackday on a budget as often it seems there for the big hitters with even bigger budgets lol date : 25th March
thats quite a list - when i did mine in the honda, i brought the car, a helmet and money lol! had a blast but destroyed the front left Goodyear Eagle F1
fail to prepare... prepare to epically fail etc etc.... Lolz no mate I've that we'd checklist as more a guideline of stuff I'll prob need after the day also (coolant, brake fluid/pads etc) cause car is a daily driver as well I can't have it off road for a week whilst waiting to buy brake pads and fit them etc. hence having everything sitting in garage just incase lol But yeah prob overkill too
so was mine at the time man. I fitted Ferodo DS2500 front pads, serviced it and got 4 new tyres fitted for mine - drove the wheels off it too! managed 45 miles in half a tank of petrol lol! impressive figures out of a 1.8, thats around 9mpg
I done 2 track days at the end of 2010 and 5 last year in my civic and all the car needed was brake pads and a new tyre or two. all you want to bring with you is a couple of spare tyres, spare brake pads, spare oil incase you need a top up and some petrol. (although there is a petrol station 10 mins away). if you have good faith in your car you should still have those spares at the end of the day. I drove my civic to the track from Letterkenny, had the full day on track , drove home and then went to work in the car on monday morning again. Before ya go up make sure ya give the car a full service, (plugs, oil, coolant, and all the filters)including a fresh set of brake pads and bleed the brakes.. after all your not racing, you are just going for a blast in your car.. Have fun!!
