Pound strengthening against the Euro a bit has done no harm either (y)

I don't get this. Lets say you drive at 60mph, that puts the station 20miles away. Say the car gets 40mpg that means you use a gallon of juice to get the fuel in the first place.

A 60litre fill at £1.02 compared to £1.13 (cheapest up North) will save you £6.60

Take away the gallon of juice you just used at 4.54 times £1.02 = £4.63 means you wasted 40mins of your life to save max £2.

You're only saving if you're bringing LOADS of the stuff back. Otherwise just fill up on the way to work and do 40mins extra overtime during the week ^:o) works out better unless you get paid less than £3 per hour

Surely the hassle and 20 mins each way to save a quid or 2 isnt worth it? Are you just filling the car up? Or loads of containers too?

I was thinking the exact same.

Its like the people who got to tesco on a saturday and que for half an hour to get petrol for 1p a litre cheaper

So you have saved 50p, how much did it cost to sit there with car running nevermind your time wasted.

Yes but you also have to take into consideratio the difference in the euro and the sterling which will make the difference..

Used to bring home a fair amount of fuel when I had a caravan down in Enniskillen, but that was when the derv was sitting at 70ppl (n)

unless you live on the border it usually dosen't make economic sense to just fill the tank... i was over the border at derry a few weeks ago, filled up from reserve plus 3x jerry cans and worked out at the time to have saved around about £20

not a lot but better in my pocket than not i suppose.. good to see the £ going the right direction!

one other point worth noting, the diesel i got in the south must have been decent quality as i managed to get an extra 50 miles from the full tank over the same weekly driving i would do.. (motorway commute/a & b roads etc.)

Silverstream is a different story alltogether..

Peadar is allways cheaper than most. He usually gives good rates.

But i've also seen his diesel run through my car so makes you wonder.
