NI-Minis Minis In Northern Ireland Causeway Coast Peak Performance They all cater for something different, whether its show and shine, competing, or sandwiches and beer
to be honest, and this is coming from a Mini person I am not in any clubs as such, its handier just to attend all the runs and shows.
minis in the city is the first show of the season in May see link http://www.facebook.com/events/213522272071697/
get onto ni-mini.co.uk, i will keep you up to date on the shows etc. It can be a strange scene though lol and thats coming from someone that has been involved with it for over 10years
Causeway Coast mini club used the be BRILL when Alan Elder was the chairman, he give it up and it went down hill in a way, hear he is back in the drivers seat again, if so it worth going to a club meeting some night. Always enjoyed them when he run it.
my experience of mini clubs when i started out has now turned me into a "wouldnt bother with them" mini owner!
Sorry to thread hijack but as someone interested in possiblely getting a mini to restore/tart up. What should you look out for spec wise?
I like 1989 onwards with servo disc brakes and they have factory holes for rear speakers too, retro look has to be pre 84 with 10" wheels but no disc brakes. The best is a 1275 GT in my eyes.
Are they easy enough to work on for someone without much experience in mechanics? The price of them seems to be hard to judge, I've seen some basic engined/styled classics being advertised for more than the new BMW Mini's! I'd really like something very "Italian Job" looking.
Yeah the mechanics are easy worked on but you need to know how to do bodywork - owning a mini will require you to weld at some point!! As for spec?? Where do you start!?? 42 years in manufacture means the models out there are endless - then theres the modification/customisation side of it too!!
