Here's the deal. Looking for classic insurance currently. All the companies I have tried want me to be 25. I'm 21, full UK manual license for 2 years, 1 years NCB (being used on my Berlingo). I don't care about mileage caps etc. Can anyone reccommend anyone to try? Many thanks
Try Adrian Flux They quoted me on a classic car policy at 21 but it ended up cheaper to take out a full policy and restrict the milage.
Footman James and Adrian were both up for quoting me at 21 years old, until I told them it was an e36 m3 lol. It looks like it'd be easier to get insurance on a spaceship! I've been quoted for a full policy from Adrian Flux, and HIC, but they're looking £2500+ for it. Although that is fully comp and with 0 years NCB as its being used on my Berlingo. Sighhh
Think from memory you had to have held a full license for 3 years, have a main policy, and be 21. Anyone any suggestions?
i am with woodford james rules: classic car is 3k miles per year, kept in garage, have fully comp on my daily car, be over 25...
bumping this up.. im 18, looking insurance on an '86 car.. can get it at the same price i had the leon at on a full policy.. but hate the thoughts of paying stupid money again!
Seen a right few guys on here tyring to get classic insurance at 18-21. Does being 23 make any difference or are they all 25 and over? Ive got 4 years NCB. Would love to have a rally/track 205 GTI for the summer, or maybe even something like an MX5. Just need something fun for a few months. While the modern diesel is both quick and efficient, its very boring most of the time.
loosen a wheel nut or two I currently drive my mx5 on my 3rd party extension, insured by the father. works out not to bad (20 years old)
Its a bitch to get 3rd Party Extension now if you haven't just been renewing an old policy which had it I think. Who you with out of interest? ^
Hughes are the broker, through AXA, been with them 3 years come august 2012. when i initially got the policy at 18 was one of the last people to get the 3rd part extension before they changed the regulations to 25 so despite my insurance costing about 500 more than alternative places, the 3rd party extension is all that keeps me with them.
Damn. Was hopeful there might have been somewhere offering it again even just to 21+ would have been good
