Ive just finished uploading some photographs of past cars, and thought i would share them.

1275 GT, Bronze Yellow, 1972 (didnt come with door mirrors) Downton Manifold, minilites and Dunlops.

At car show at castle grounds, Bangor
    [IMG]

    Same Car show
    [IMG]

7 owners later and it was used in a competition in Ormeau Park
    [IMG]

Now it has been reshelled in a mini 1000 shell, beside another bronze yellow 1275 GT
    [IMG]

Now belonging to a friend, when i got another white one, '74. First 12" wheel in Northern Ireland, we converted it back to 10" having to change discs, calipers, drive flange etc to make them fit. Tinted glass, fitted in England, Homemade reverseing lights in clusters, then a few years later, BL fitted them as standard. When the glass was fitted in england, believe it or not the price for the car came to £1275 ;) At one stage had standard 12" wheels, 10" Dunlops, 10" minilites and 10" Mambas. Also had Stage 2 Downton tuning head, and manifolds, and dummy cooper s filler cap (1 on each side)

Both 1275's and a friends viva HC on Craigantlet Hills
    [IMG]

    Flamenco red 1275 GT, 1977
    [IMG]

Ex British Leyland 1275 GT used for track racing in England, bought by KANES of Comber, which i valeted.

1976 Opel Kadett Coupe, ordered with factory metal sunroof, and optional cloth seats (vinyl seats were standard on most cars at the time. Wilson and Leeper Bridgend, Belfast, had never ordered a cloth interior)

With modified front grill to fit Lucas square 8 lights.

1977 Kadett Coupe, sunoof and cloth interior again.

Fiesta Ghia with Vinyl roof '79 or '80. Didnt think much of it because it didnt have the style or handling of the Kadett Coupe's
    [IMG]

Fiesta XR2 1983. Wish i still had it.

Another xr2 whilst waiting on an Orion. Great wee car a good step up from the Ghia
    [IMG]

XR3 1982, one of the first 5 speed gearbox's. Lucky, as while on order, 5 speeds were put into them. Photographed beside the Xr2 in the garage.

    Mine with a friends.

XR3i, (INJECTION) 1983, Injection made a massive difference, over XR3.

Bought as a temporary car, another XR3i.

Valeted another for a friend, it was just new.

1985. Needed a 4 door, as family started. Fantastic car. Ford Orion, Ghia i. Slightly faster than the XR3i.

1988, Ford orion, 1.4 GL, With Ghia extras fitted. Nice car in black
    [IMG]

Orion GLSi, same engine as XR3i, with sierra wheel trims, as it came with white wheel trims as standard. Also had alloys on it but much preferred the trims.

Another Orion, 1994, had a set of TSW Stealth's on it, but didnt drive like the previous orions.

A friends magazine featured (Max Power, april 1997, featured aswell) VR6 corrado. He was a later owner of the black Kadett coupe. Over £10k was spend on the engine and suspension alone, by BR motorsport in England, COUNTLESS sets of wheels. It was actualy one of the last corrados made, before the Storms were brought out.

Of all the cars, i missed the minis and the Kadett Coupes, so much that i bought one of the last Mini coopersports in 2000, as a toy ;)

Indeed lol, there's a 4 ft brick wall between me and kens yard... For the 23 years iv lived all I hear everyday is him revving and sliding about the yard testing the cars he's tuning and building lol! He's known down here as 'speedy' lol. Don't see as much auto testing these days, great events to watch .

    Fantastic thread! (y)

Most of the cars were years before I was even thought of lol The Opel Kadett Coupe's to me look like a Mustang fastback, reminds me of Eleanor- Gone In 60 Seconds lol!!

Dad told me years ago he had a standard fiesta and his brother who had a few accidents had an xr2 so they had to swap and he ended up with the xr2 the lucky bugger, still his favourite car to this day. Have to admit looking at those photos I can see why they certainly look the part :D
