Going to spend next weekend giving the car some TLC as it is covered in tar and looking a bit dull. I need to get some new wax but was wondering what people would reccommend would be the best to use on Audi Brilliant Red paint? Not looking to spend hundreds of pounds but am willing to stretch to more than £4.99 at Halfords.
Chemical Guys Pete's53, trust me my S-line A3 was brilliant red! Its designed for black cars but well known its excellent for red, WayneD off here will also agree. Where are you based? I probably have enough to give it a couple of coats if you wanted a trade? Or if you want to buy new this is a good price: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/chemical-guys-pete-39-s-53-paste-wax/prod_337.html
That would be great smoothie, I'm from comber but work in Belfast and don't mind having to travel a bit
Buy yourself a sample pot of Dodo Juice Orange crush (£6) or Dodo Supernatural (£10). If your looking for that ultimate wet too then you'll need to use a glaze, personally I'd recommend Prima Amigo. Amigo topped with supernatural gives a fantastic finish on red as can be seen in the pic of my ST below:
most waxes are much of a muchness, everyone will say this and that as they will have personal preferences and each wax will have it's strength and weaknesses. Collinite is one wax which probably won't have just as good shine however its often used as a winter wax as its very durable so if you don't want to be at it every few weeks... As said a glaze then wax should see it looking 'wet' and shiny, I use poorboys white diamond with autoglym high def wax over it and the end result always makes me smile Nice st there Paddy
Quite interested in this also .. I have some 476s also, but it's not very durable in winter months. The S2k could do with a detail to be honest but I am leaving that to better weather comes in. Interested in decent wax that I could use now that gives deep wet look and is reasonably durable.
Collinite is always used as a winter wax mate simply due to it being so durable It should last months and months if applied correctly Chemical guys above is a good job, friend of mine uses it and highly recommends it, he knows his stuff too! Couldn't beat it for the price also. If you want a wet look guys you're best off with a glaze then wax ontop of it, that leaves the wet look and shine you're after, waxing alone only does to a certain extent Another cheap option which is a top job, glaze: http://www.poorboysworld.com/whitediamond.htm and wax: http://www.poorboysworld.com/natty.htm. Can be picked up from procar handy too
If ur looking for a budget glaze the pb black hole should be the choice. A wax will give the car more depth and lusture but if it's durability ur after ur better off goin for a sealant If u want a decent quality wax ur best heading upto procar, Davy has plenty and also stocks glazes etc
Best glaze I've ever used is Prima Amigo. It regarded as one possibly the best about and isn't any more expensive than the others out there. Others that are highly thought of are Dodo Juice lime prime (or the lite version), Poorboys Blackhole (or the light version but can't remember It's name) or the Chemical Guys glazes Glossworkz glaze or ez glaze. Can't really go wrong with any of them but if you can get the Prima Amigo, you won't regret it.
I agree totally on the lime prime lite, to me that is more of a dedicated glaze with it's oily texture and glazing/filling properties as there's no cut although even poor boys bh/wd have a very slight cut in them there all roughly the same product containing cleaners and fillers. They will all do a good job by machine or hand. Prima amigo
im also interested in this! was thinking of getting Primo Amigo then Collinite 476s, would i get a good wet look shine with these? or would that orange crush etc be a better option? Anywhere sell these local?
I can supply you with Collinite 476s and Auto Finesse Tripple which would be a better combo imo. Equally I stock and supply Auto Finesse wax also
