Ai used a dastek on mine but I'm not sure they still do that tbh my vxr made good power and was mapped specifically for my car and mods. I wouldn't let anyone over here map my petrol car bar Ai and I most definitely wouldn't let a limpfin/thorney map near it
theres a few threads on here about them chum http://www.reallymeansounds.com/forum/threads/torquetronix-info.106544/ really good responce geared towards OBD, personally id go to them first. Havent used t/t but again heard the odd bad bit of publicity. <!-- personal opinion
Yea I was reading that thread earlier, definitely doesn't sound too good for tt! Thanks again everybody for all the advice!
It will be Stevie, or Ryan you will be speaking too. both sound guys, and youll feel more than welcome, can be a tricky unit to find, but its in the pennyville industrial estate, they can direct you no bother, let us know how ya get on
I will do! Hopefully they can do it for me. I know it will vary from car to car and how much work is involved but do you know roughly what sort of price it would cost?
Think i seen somebody say here between 2-500, as your aware the work will vary, I'd budget around the £300 mark, but once you talk to them they can give you a definate quote.
Thanks syecadelic. Was talkin to Ryan this morn, should hopefully have it done before the end of the month!
Glad to hear dude (= the first of many helpful things from this forum hopefully Go into the town after and grab a Burger King
On my home computer I have a graph of the unichip A.I. did for me. It was 306bhp and 302lbft, I'll post it later if that is of any use. Mapped to mods (Stage3), though its back to standard now.
Thanks Jb but andy was telling me that AI are selling their rollers this weekend and closing at the end of the month I think and he's not sure if they have the unichip software anymore! But thanks anyway Jb!
Ah didn't realise, I was going to buy a 335D at one point and was for taking it to OBD Autotune, I hear good things.
Aye I've heard nothing only good things about them too. I will post up and let you know how it goes when I get mine done.
Deffo go with Autotune great bunch of fellas have mapped all my cars got to know them well and I wouldn't send anyone else, else where tbh let us know the figures, a mate in work with a astra Vxr went to torquetronixs and got lowering springs fitted and a nurburgring full exhaust system and got it mapped had a bit of bother with the exhaust or map think it was the exhaust but he had it for 5 days tho, but the fella is really happy with the performance of it now, tho I told him to go to Autotune but he never listened tbh lol and his own words were he should of went to Autotune, also I was getting him discount from Autotune which makes thing worse(Some people don't listen) pmsl Tho my Scooby will be going to England to a Subaru expert(Jgm) as looking every last BHP lol and that's where I'm buying the Ecu from also
heard of this issue above before, friend 's colleague got his astra vxr mapped, and on two separate occasions car went into limp/safe mode, and blue smoke ended up out the other end of the pipe, turbo?
My car started going into limp mode a lot, turned out the Forge Intercooler tophat pipe had cracked all the way round. They had a good rep too! If you were going that route at any stage I'd tend to stick to Courtenay one though to be fair Forge sent out the replacement pipe 14 months after purchase without hassle inside 3 days. /tangent
I have used torquetronix once and wont use them again, have used OBD now for 3 different cars and have always been delighted with there work.......simples
Ive used torquetronics and so has the other half with his nurburg. Hes got his done a year now and ive mine done since sept and there hasnt been any bother with either. I think everyone has heard bad stories about every remapper, i have but most reputable businesses stand by their work. Its their business at the end of the day. I havent experiences of other businesses but i havent a bad word to say about tt
