Have a set of e46 m3 rims need a good buff/clean to remove the dirt and grit, return them back to that polished finish. Any products you would recommend at a decent price? cutting pastes/compounds etc?

    thanks

Hmmm, for a once-off major clean wonder wheels would be alright - it's too acidic for day to day cleanage however, for that P21s gel seems to get a good rep. It worked well for me, but currently using turtlewax ice (new version pH neutral version) and it seems alright. Then get the polish dude who's currently the topic of conversation in this thread:

    to polish them up!

Make sure you seal them well afterwards! :)

Wonder wheels or Autoglym Wheel cleaner ( Both Acidic) , Clay bar, Tardis, water, autosol, Rimwax (y)

I use either Bilberry wheel cleaner or Autobrite Cherry wheel cleaner!

    I would use the following:

    Cartec Wheel cleaner (non-acidic)

    A/S Tardis

    Rimwax/poorboys wheel sealant (y)

possibly a small amount of AG metal polish depending on how the first three products mentioned above improve the finish on the rims

P21S gel - top, top stuff. Personally, I avoid Hot Rims and the like as they contain sulphuric acid and is not safe to use on all types of wheels.

    Re:

Got some of that Cartec stuff from Davy @ Procar.

At 50/50 it was still way too strong (y) Down to 5:1 and it works great.

Wheels came up really well. Much better than the AG stuff.

Not often I would recommend stuff.
