advise needed

i have a 2000 honda accord typeR.
it does not have air con, and as it doesnt ppl have told me there is something wrong and that it should cause even the earlier models had it. can anyone shed some light on why mine doesnt have it?
i guess it has a power advantage not having aircon

im not selling it now cause its such a good car im keeping it. but i would swap it for a vectraC cause i love them and iv wanted one for ages. the typeR is still up for grabs if someone really wants it for the right offer
