2003 Blobeye WRX 2.0 engine

A friend is looking a

2.0 ej205 or ej207 engine for an 03 Blobeye

He is wanting to rebuild the engine for his car so doesn’t matter if the engine has bearing damage etc. looking full block and heads ideally.

Way back in the day I got one from Traynors for around 300-350 iirc just swapped the heads and it was virtually plug and play for Cluggo to do.

If his heads are good I'd just throw a new Subaru short block into it. £2500 gets you an STI short block brand new that'll take 400hp. Newer thicker wall block too.

A used EJ205 would be around £1000 if he's looking the cheapest option, but the STI block would add a bit to the value IMO
